Ibiza Convention Bureau adds 11 new companies at the toughest time for business tourism

For Ibiza Convention Bureau, the challenge during 2022 is to continue to attract business tourism in several European countries

When Ibiza Convention Bureau (ICB) organised its last assembly on 11th February 2020, none of the associates could have foreseen the almost immediate closure that was coming their way. This department, part of Fomento del Turismo de Ibiza, aims to promote the island as a destination for congresses, conventions, business meetings, incentives and events, known as MICE tourism. Yesterday, the Club Diario de Ibiza held its assemblies for 2020 and 2021 with positive results despite Covid-related circumstances: 11 new member companies, including Club Diario de Ibiza, and four withdrawals, in this case due to a decrease or cessation of activity, and a total of 62 members.

According to Ana Sรกnchez Vigรณn, manager of ICB, “2020 served to redo the second phase of the construction of the Ibiza Conference Centre”.

With the end of the restrictions, this organisation was once again present at a dozen important forums in various countries for attracting MICE tourism. Together with the Palacio de Congresos, it also organised the first Ibiza MICE Summit, which attracted 130 attendees and 17 speakers. In 2022 the forecast is to once again attract European clients.
