Violinist Linus Roth returns to the Ibiza Concerts international festival

The third edition of this musical festival, which was postponed due to the pandemic last year, will take place on August 27th in the church of Santo Domingo

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the international music festival Ibiza Concerts returns to the island with a reduced programme. As announced on Wednesday in a statement from Ibiza Town Hall, this third event will be held on a single day, 27th August, and will feature a single star, Linus Roth, who is the artistic director of this musical project.

The prestigious German violinist, who has organised this event in collaboration with Ibiza Town Hall, will offer two performances on the 27th, one at 7.30pm and the other at 9pm, in the church of Santo Domingo, in Dalt Vila.

The programme for this third edition of Ibiza Concerts will include pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, ‘Partita No. 3’ and ‘Ciaccona’; by Niccolò Paganini, ‘Nel cor piu non mi sento’, and by Eugène Ysaÿe, ‘Solo sonata No. 3: Ballade’.

Tickets are free with advanced booking and are already available on the eivissa.es website.

Capacity will be limited and access to the event will be controlled. There will be two people in charge of ensuring compliance with the measures established to avoid coronavirus infection. On arrival at the concert in the church of Santo Domingo, the temperature of those attending will be taken, and hydroalcoholic gel should also be used. One hour before each concert in Vara de Rey, next to the Hotel Montesol, a bus service will be available for the public to go up to Dalt Vila.

The third edition of Ibiza Concerts, scheduled for August 2020, had to be postponed due to the measures taken at that time to stop the pandemic. The Schumann Quartet and the pianist Julien Quentin were scheduled to perform alongside Roth. The intention is for these musicians to take part in the 2022 edition of Ibiza Concerts, according to Linu Roth’s announcement on the festival’s website.
