5 quality theatre works for Ibiza

The Consell de Ibiza joins the Platea program to bring various theatre works to Ibiza

The Consell de Ibiza has this year joined the Platea program for the first time, organized by the Ministry of Culture with the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, a program has been running since 2014. In this 2022-2023 edition, five theatre performances of different styles of performing arts will be held.

“Making culture more accessible and theatre works of higher quality”

The Councilor for Education, Culture and Heritage, Sara Ramon, explained today at a press conference that the works chosen within the Platea program are designed so that “the whole family can enjoy”. The councilor stressed that since the beginning of the legislature the cultural program has been based on two ideas, “to make culture more accessible and offer more works of higher quality”.

Meanwhile, Yolanda Andiñach, head of cultural programming from the Consell de Ibiza, explained that ticket prices range from 18 euros for theatre performances, 16 for dance and 10 for children and family.

The works will be performed at the Centro Sociocultural de Cas Serres.

The first offer on this program is ‘Natanam’, by the contemporary dance company DA.TE DANZA. It will be on November 25th in the auditorium of Cas Serres, from 7pm. It will be followed on January 21st (no time indicated) by the theatre performance ‘GuillermoTell’, by Ferro Teatro. Then come February 4th, ‘LaReina delArga’, a “fun show, historical, familiar, endearing,” says the Consell.

February 10th features ‘LasCotton’ by Anita Maravillas & Portal 71, a puppet show aimed at an audience over five years and which won the FETEN 2021 award for best work of this type.

The program will close on March 26th with the show ‘Cuándo viene Samuel’. The company responsible, Ultramarinos Lucas, holds the Medalla al Mérito Cultural de Castilla-La Mancha, the Premio Nacional de Artes Escénicas para la Infancia and last year’s Premio Asitej España.
