After the standstill of the pandemic, leisure and cultural initiatives are resurfacing with force. The latest is the festival Nativ Ibiza Alive (NIA), to be held from 25th to 27th November in Vila, in the Eixample area, the parque de la Paz, the Mercat Nou and the surrounding areas. It was presented this morning by its promoter, Massimo Shadi Saab, CEO and founder of the publication Nativ Ibiza; and the two public institutions that have collaborated, the Ibiza City Council and the Consell of the island. “For some time now, Nativ has had the idea of organizing an event that would stir the collective conscience for sustainability through art and today, thanks to the support of the administrations and the collaboration of artists and centers such as the Escola d’Art, it is a reality,” he said during his speech.

Nativ Ibiza Alive is built on 4 pillars

Creativity, culture, innovation and sustainability are the four pillars on which the Nativ Ibiza Alive project is based, which also aims to “support local commerce in the area”. This was emphasized at the presentation by the Councillor for Tourism and Commerce of Ibiza, Rosa Rubio, who recalled that the City Council is committed to the neighborhood merchants affected by the renovation of Avenida Isidor Macabich to promote activities that attract the public to the Eixample area.

The program includes more than 40 free activities for all tastes and ages ranging from urban art, fashion, workshops, gastronomy, children’s games and music. Most of the action will take place in the parque de la Paz, although there will also be movement in the Mercat Nou, “representating local products and, therefore, the most sustainable option,” as noted Shadi Saab. There will be artistic performances, which on Saturday November 26th will feature Aida Miró, Omar Enfendda and Rom Ero. It will not be the only activity related to the art of Nativ Ibiza Alive, whose intention is “to give voice to both established creators of the island and young talents”, including those who are in the Escola d’Art d’Ibiza. All participating artists, said the festival promoter, “will create works with sustainable materials in compliance with the rule of the 5R’s of waste management : reduce, repair, recover, reuse and recycle.
