The Michelin Guide has presented its prestigious gastronomic awards on Tuesday in Toledo at a gala in which the restaurant Etxeko Ibiza by Martín Berasategui, located in the Bless Hotel Ibiza, es Canar, in the municipality of Santa Eulària.
Etxeko Ibiza was already awarded a Sol Repsol in February this year. His cuisine is based on the innovative reinterpretation of Basque gastronomy and the prominence he gives to Ibizan products, such as carob, tomatoes or salt from the island.
With his Ibizan restaurant, Berasategui currently has 13 Michelin stars: three at Restaurante Martín Berasategui in Lasarte-Oria; three at Restaurante Lasarte in Barcelona; two at Restaurante M.B. in Tenerife, one at Restaurante Oria in Barcelona, one at Restaurante Eme Be Garrote in San Sebastián, one at Restaurante Ola Martín Berasategui in Bilbao and one at Restaurante Fifty Seconds Martín Berasategui in Lisbon, in addition to that of Etxeko Ibiza.
Ibiza now has 3 Michelin Star restaurants
In addition, the island of Ibiza has three Michelin stars with that of Etxeko. Previously, the restaurant Es Tragon, by Álvaro Sanz Clavijo, and La Gaia, with chef Óscar Molina, obtained this prestigious distinction.
