Second attack in this street

This is not the first stabbing perpetrated on this street of Ibiza. Less than a year and a half ago, in the early morning of October 12, 2021, Vasilie Ilie, a 38-year-old man, died after a brawl at the intersection of Cataluรฑa and Extremadura streets, one of the corners of Mercat Nou.

The National Police arrested two men as perpetrators of the incident. According to the victim’s wife, a Romanian national, the aggression occurred after her husband went down to a supermarket on Aragon Street with his roommate, the owner of the establishment, to buy bread and beer.

The deceased’s wife noted that two men then surprised them trying to force the entrance door to the store. The fight began when the victim and his companion went out to ask for explanations, according to the woman, who said that the assailants and the attackers, of Uruguayan origin, did not know each other. She explained that the assailants were carrying an iron with which they began to hit them, and that one of them went to look for a knife with which he stabbed the victim in the back.
