Four-year-old boy dies after drowning in Sa Coma water park

The four-year-old boy who drowned last Saturday in a water park in sa Coma has died today in Son Espases, Mallorca. The little boy was resuscitated at the scene and rushed to the hospital, where doctors verified that his situation was of brain death. His death was confirmed at midday. The Guardia Civil has opened an investigation to clarify what happened.

The events occurred last Saturday around half past two in the afternoon in a swimming pool located in the municipality of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar (Mallorca). The minor was rescued from the water without pulse and with symptoms of drowning.

Witnesses and staff of the aquatic park began the maneuvers of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and a rapid intervention vehicle – with a doctor, nurse and technician – and a conventional ambulance of Ib-Salut, as well as the doctor of the PAC of Son Servera went to the scene.

Green alert

The child responded to stimuli and regained a pulse, after which what he was stabilized and urgently transferred to the pediatric ICU of Son Espases. The Guardia Civil activated a green alert to make way for the ambulance and expedite his transfer.

Doctors at Son Espases certified that the child was brain dead and that his condition was irreversible. The doctors have certified early this afternoon his death due to the following causes the serious after-effects.
