The tourist from Hong Kong who almost drowned on Tuesday and was rescued by the lifeguards of Platja d’en Bossa, died yesterday at the Can Misses hospital, reports the Health Department of Ibiza and Formentera.
Drowned and in cardiorespiratory arrest
On July 5th, shortly before 1pm, the victim had to be rescued from the water by the lifeguards. The young woman, 34 years old, was in cardiorespiratory arrest, so the lifeguards began CPR maneuvers (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) until 061 arrived with two ambulances.
The rescuers began advanced resuscitation maneuvers and the young woman recovered her pulse and vital signs. Once stabilized, she was transferred to the hospital, where she remained in critical condition in the ICU until she died yesterday.
