The best plans for the weekend on Ibiza and Formentera

This weekend's plans include a rice with mushrooms contest in Santa Gertrudis, theater, dance and rockabilly.

The festivities of Santa Gertrudis, which celebrated its big day on Wednesday, take a big slice of the weekend, with activities for all ages. They begin on Friday with a youth urban party in the marquee, continuing on Saturday with various sports activities before the concert by Canallas del Guateke at night, and end on Sunday with the III Mundial de Arrós amb Pebrassos i Trossos, which will fill the center of town with flavor, enlivened with music and workshops for children all weekend.

The Santa Eulària Children’s Day is also aimed at the little ones, which will be held on Saturday at the Solidarity Walk with games, workshops and shows.

In the musical highlights the concert of Santa Cecilia Band and Choir Ciutat d’Eivissa, on Saturday at Can Ventosa and a new edition of the tribute concert Dave in My Mind, with the rockabilly group Tru-Desert Trio and jam session with many of the late bluesman Dave Jeffs friends.

The weekend will also have room for theater, with two plays by the amateur theater festival Pedro Cañestro on Saturday and Sunday in Sant Antoni and Cas Serres: ‘Clic, cuanto todo cambia’, and ‘Stepanakert, cor de magrana’. Also on Saturday ‘Rebel-lió’ arrives at the Palacio de Congresos, a dance and theater show by Marea Danza on the play ‘Animal Farm’.
