Storm Denise uproots several trees on Ibiza

Storm Denise: the Pitiusas Islands are today on yellow alert for strong winds and coastal hazards

The storm Denise and wind gusts reaching up to 90 kilometers per hour on Ibiza and Formentera have uprooted several trees on the island. The Ibiza Fire Department reports that early this morning they removed one in Benirràs, in Sant Miquel.

In addition, the Consell de Ibiza points out that, throughout last night several objects were also removed from the E-20 road in Vila, and also on the airport road.

During today the Pitiusas are on yellow alert for strong winds that will reach gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour and also for coastal risks with waves up to four meters.

Storm closes Formentera’s port

The storm’s wind also caused the closure of the port of La Savina, in Formentera from 7.30 am, although its facilities have already reopened to maritime traffic. In addition, yesterday several routes between Ibiza and Formentera were cancelled.
