Agents from the Policía Nacional on Ibiza arrested two men of Italian origin of 36 and 30 years of age early Wednesday morning, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of injury and threats, as reported by the police. The events occurred at around 1:15am, when an officer for public safety from the Policía Nacional arrested an individual in the street as the alleged perpetrator of an attack on a man and threats to a woman.
The officers, who were on duty, were alerted by the customer of a bar near a plaza. The man reported that, while he was drinking on the terrace of the establishment, he had witnessed how the two individuals intimidated with glass bottles and threatened the waitress of the bar, in addition to witnessing the subsequent attack with glass bottles on the owner of the bar, who tried to defend his employee.
The events were triggered by a discussion initiated through a social network between the waitress of the bar and one of the now detained, which maintained a friendly relationship. The conversation ended with death threats against the woman by one of the alleged perpetrators, according to the Policía Nacional.
Bar owner attacked defending staff
According to the woman, the individual showed up moments later at the bar in the company of another man, with glass bottles in his hand, intimidating and threatening to assault her. Her boss, who had interceded on her behalf, had been injured by the individuals, who violently attacked the man with their fists and glass bottles, and a fight broke out between them. In the scuffle the owner of the establishment was injured, with a large bleeding cut to his ear.
The man had to be assisted at the emergency service of the Can Misses Hospital, the statement said. The agents arrested the second man hours later at police headquarters, for a crime of injury and another for threats. The detainees have already been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction on duty.
