Horror on a Ryanair flight to Ibiza where passengers almost provoked a riot

A group of about 70 drunk people spent the three-hour Ryanair flight blaring music, banging on the ceiling of the airplane and harassing a female passenger.

The Ryanair flight covering the route Edinburgh – Ibiza on September 25th was “horrible”, according to some of its passengers after not having received any logical response to their complaint to the airline after landing on the island.

That day among the passengers on the plane was a group of about 70 people who continuously drank vodka purchased in the stores at Edinburgh airport. The three-hour journey to Ibiza turned into a “horrible” experience, as reported by a couple who were on the flight and whose testimonies have been echoed by the Daily Mail. After filing a formal complaint to Ryanair, they now find that the company’s response is a “copy-paste” to their letter, without apparently having taken it into account.

The British newspaper has today published a video in which you can see the party that the group of about 70 people started on the flight, drinking alcohol compulsively and blasting music equipment at full volume.

A 55-year-old woman told how her 58-year-old husband, who suffers from a heart condition, was accosted on his way back from the bathroom by a drunken young man, who slapped his hand before making a rude gesture. Other passengers were also verbally abused by the group.

Ryanair staff unable to control the situation

Ryanair airline staff on board were unable to calm the situation, the witness said, and there was a moment when a harassed passenger had to forcibly push a young man who refused to leave her alone.

The chaos reportedly continued as the plane prepared to land in the midst of a storm that was raging on Ibiza that day. The flight attendant was shouting over the loudspeaker for everyone to sit down or the plane would not land because everyone was still standing.

“It could have been a riot because they were beating people up, screaming in passengers’ faces. There could have been a war on that plane,” one woman explains to the Daily Mail.
