Agents of the National Police of Ibiza have arrested in the early hours of this Tuesday morning a 47-year-old Venezuelan man as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery in an establishment. Apparently, the man had already robbed other establishments on the island on other occasions.
The police officers, according to a note from the National Police, were alerted by 091 at 4:30 a.m. that a robbery was taking place on the Ses Figueretes promenade. “The agents went quickly and caught the man red-handed in the moment in which he was trying to flee through the terrace next to the place where he was stealing,” the note says.
The police officers, the release states, became aware of the man’s presence and recognized him “because he had already stolen on other occasions.” The officers arrested him as the alleged perpetrator of burglary and took a tablet from him, which the owner of the premises later recognized as his and the officers returned it to him.
In addition, the note also explains that the agents found the cash register on the floor when they inspected the establishment. In addition, the man had also forced the window, “but as the cash register was large, he was unable to remove it,” the note points out.
The National Police also says that this morning the detainee has been handed over to the Court of Instruction on duty in Ibiza.
