DJ David Guetta and his ex-wife Cathy, were robbed several times in Ibiza in 2019. The mastermind behind the robberies and assaults, a trusted employee of the family, was arrested two months after the events, but the authorities were still looking for the two people who carried them out. Today, the Guardia Civil announced in a press release that one of them, a Romanian national with a long criminal record, has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of at least two robberies with forced entry at two homes, one Cathy Guetta had rented in Santa Eulร ria and another in Platja d’en Bossa, and an attempted robbery at a property in Sant Jordi belonging to David Guetta.
800,000 euros to Cathy Guetta
In August 2019 Cathy Guetta reported that the house where she lived in Cap Martinet (Santa Eulร ria) owned by “a well-known football coach from the Spanish capital” had been burgled, according to the Guardia Civil. In order to enter the house, located in a luxury urbanisation with high security measures such as permanent physical surveillance and perimeter enclosure, the criminals overrode the more than 20 security cameras in the urbanisation, gaining access to the flat inhabited by Cathy Guetta and stealing effects worth 800,000 euros.

Investigators also link the now arrested man to the assault in 2019 on David Guetta’s home in Sant Jordi, although on that occasion the attack was countered by members of the DJ’s personal security. In addition, he is also accused of the robbery at the same time at the offices of the company that manages the David Guetta’s image in Ibiza, in which 50,000 euros were stolen from a safe and numerous confidential information.
To flee from this robbery the thieves stole a van which was found burnt out in Vila shortly afterwards.
The arrest and the search for a third party
As the Guardia Civil points out, the arrest of the Romanian citizen came about thanks to the work of the investigators of the Investigation Section of the Policรญa Judicial de Palma e Ibiza who, after extensive efforts, managed to arrest the alleged perpetrator who had already been identified but had fled from Ibiza after committing the crimes. However, the agents located him between his native country and the peninsula, although he has finally been arrested upon his return to the island, where he has been sent to prison.
The Guardia Civil is still looking for a third person involved in all these robberies of the Guetta family, who has already been identified and the efforts for his arrest “are at a very advanced stage”, according to the statement.
