The Pitiusas are not unaffected by the generalized rise in hotel rates that is taking place all over Spain, either as a consequence of the growing demand, due to the inflationary tsunami or as a consequence of the increase in personnel costs and/or the investments made in the last three years to improve the facilities. The latest known data, referring to the month of May (those of June will be known at the end of July), indicate that the average daily rate has experienced an increase of 33% in this archipelago compared to what it was in 2019, the precovid year. The average rate in May three years ago, which was 93 euros, has since risen by almost 31 euros, to 123.8 euros, just a third, according to data provided by Ibestat from information supplied by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
The largest increase is in five-star hotel rates, with no less than 38.7%, going from 220 euros on average in 2019 to the current 305.20 euros
