Two passengers on a flight on the Ibiza-Barcelona route were fistfight yesterday in the middle of the trip according to the online media Principal. The argument began when the plane was already flying to El Prat.
The fight originated, as reported by the digital media, when a girl asked a man of about 65 years old who was traveling on the flight (the one with the 20 hours bound for Barcelona) to lower his voice.
The man refused to listen to her and at that point the young woman called him “bitter.”
At this point in the dispute, a third person, another “elderly” man, confronted him, escalating the situation and triggering a midair brawl.
The crew managed to separate the two men and get the person who had refused to lower his voice to sit down. The flight commander at that time informed that passenger that when the plane landed on the ground, he would be detained.
Upon landing in Barcelona, reports the Principal, the passenger again confronted the other man by punching him. The assaulted man lunged at the aggressor just as two Guardia Civil agents were entering the plane. One of the agents restrained the assaulted man and subsequently took the aggressor out of the plane to identify him and to instruct him on the complaint filed by the pilot for “an administrative offense under the Aviation Safety Law”.
While the man was leaving the aircraft escorted by the agents, the rest of the passengers lashed out at the woman who accompanied him, exclaiming that they had “made their trip bitter” and bursting into applause.
