In addition to Vueling Madrid-Ibiza flight cancelled last Thursday night, another that was to depart from the island to Barcelona was cancelled on Friday. As explained to Diario de Ibiza Bàrbara Arqué, journalist for TV3, the reason provided by the airline has been the same: a plane breakdown.
At 9:15am on Friday morning, Vueling flight VY3506 was scheduled to depart. “First it was delayed”, says Arqué, but finally, with the passengers at the boarding gate ready to board the plane, they announced over the loudspeaker that the flight was cancelled. At that moment, chaos ensued at es Codolar airport.
Vueling rescheduling at random
The airline’s ground staff informed the affected passengers that they could go to one of the counters to be rebooked on other flights. On the run, Arqué managed to get one of the first to ask for a solution. Even so, she explains, she had to wait approximately two hours until she was able to go home to wait for the flight on which she had been allocated for 7pm that afternoon. “I was rescheduled for the afternoon, but the young man who was with me was told he wouldn’t leave until the next day”, because according to what was explained to them, the rescheduling is “random”.
