A program that begins, the Sant Josep festivities, and another that almost ends, the 8M Women’s Day events, mark much of the activities this weekend in Ibiza and Formentera.
The events of the 8M are very diverse in subject matter and setting, with several plays, conferences, the new congress Woman Rocks and the Dona Festivalwith four Ibizan dj’s, which was suspended last Saturday due to bad weather and will be held this Saturday. In addition, on the same Saturday is celebrated the delivery of the 8 de Març Award to the recently deceased poet Nora Albert, with a tribute at the Far de ses Coves Blanques.
Outside of 8M there is also theater, with the improvisation comedy ‘Cut the red wire’, this Thursday at Can Ventosa, cinema or book presentations. And the concert for the whole family ‘Una tarda d’Il-lusió’ (An afternoon of illusion)with songs from Disney movies, on Saturday at Can Ventosa.
Also noteworthy are two events dedicated to the tradition on Saturday, the end of the Jornades de Cultura Popular of Eivissa and the Illa de Formentera Folklore Festival.
