The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has declared the entire coastline of the Balearic Islands to be on alert, with orange level in Menorca and yellow in Ibiza, Formentera and Mallorca due to strong north winds causing waves up to 5 meters high.
As reported by the meteorological agency on its website, on the coast of Menorca winds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour (force 6 to 7), which will ease slightly from 18 hours, when the alert will be downgraded to yellow level.
This is the degree of warning for the coasts of Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera, where winds from the north raise waves between 2 and 5 meters high.
The situation, according to the forecast of the Aemet, will last until mid-afternoon in the Pitiusas and will extend to Saturday in Mallorca and Menorca.
